Meet Carson Kit Fox!

Hi there, adventurers! I’m Carson Kit Fox, the official mascot of Nevada State Parks. I’m here to help you explore, learn, and have fun in the incredible parks we have across this beautiful state. Whether you’re hiking a mountain trail, fishing in a serene lake, or learning about Nevada’s history, I’ll be your guide to all the adventure waiting for you.

Who Am I?

I’m Carson Kit Fox, and I come from a long line of clever, curious kit foxes who’ve called Nevada home for generations. I’m known for my big ears (great for hearing all your stories) and my love of the great outdoors. My name comes from Carson City, the capital of Nevada, because just like Nevada’s heart, I’m always in the middle of the action, ready to show you what makes our parks so special!

What Do I Do?

My job is to make sure you have a blast while visiting Nevada State Parks. You might spot me at special events, teaching kids about nature, or sharing tips on how to stay safe and protect the wildlife that lives here. I also pop up in fun activities like scavenger hunts, Junior Ranger programs, and maybe even a selfie or two. Think of me as your friendly guide and biggest cheerleader for exploring the outdoors.

Why Am I Here?

I’m here because Nevada’s parks are for everyone, and I want to make sure you feel welcome and excited to explore them. Nevada is full of natural wonders, fascinating history, and incredible wildlife, and it’s my mission to help you discover it all. Plus, I’ve got big shoes (well, paws) to fill as the new mascot, following in the footsteps of Parkie Packrat. It’s an honor to carry on the tradition and share the magic of Nevada State Parks with you!
