Star Party: The Northern Nevada Astronomy Group will set up telescopes for viewing stars, planets, and other wonders of the night sky.
Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 8:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
Location: Washoe Lake State Park Maze Parking Lot
Need to Know:
- Pets allowed (must be on a 6 foot leash)
- Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.
- Meet at the Maze parking lot. Additional parking is available at the boat ramp
What to Bring
- Water
- Red light flashlight (does not affect night vision)
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Lawn chair or folding chair
What to Expect
- Outdoor environment with opportunities for questions and discussion
- A short, interactive astronomy presentation while the sun sets
- A variety of telescopes set up for viewing stars and planets
Fees & Registration
- No program fee
- Park entrance fee: $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents, $10 out of state
- No registration necessary, drop-ins welcome
