Rediscover Cave Lake: Grand Reopening Celebration
After years of dam repairs and restoration, Cave Lake is officially back—and we’re celebrating in a big way! Join us on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Cave Lake State Park for a full day of outdoor fun, food, and festivities. From fishing and kayaking to DJ music and local vendors, this re-opening is your chance to rediscover one of Nevada’s most scenic state parks.
Schedule of Events
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: NDOW fish truck arrives with 2,000 lbs of rainbow trout
- 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Float Tube Fly Fishing Clinic by NDOW
- 1:00 PM: Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
- All Day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM):
- DJ music
- Interpretive hikes & bike rides
- Kayaking, paddleboarding, and wildlife adventures
- Food trucks and outdoor gear booths
- Canvas outdoor art
- Commemorative Rubber Ducky Race (50/50 fundraiser)
- The debut of “Dam Good Beer” from Las Vegas Brewing Company
Camping & Parking Info
Both Lake View and Elk Flat Campgrounds will be open. Lake View Campground will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations on June 6 and 7 are limited to volunteers.
- Overflow parking will be available along Success Summit (SR 486)
- Free shuttle service will run from overflow parking into the park
- Due to safety concerns, no motorized boats will be permitted on June 7
- Plan to arrive early, as parking will fill quickly
