Megafauna Walk & Talk

Ice Age Fossils State Park

Join a ranger for a stroll along the Megafauna Trail to learn about the Ice Age megafauna featured there. This hard surface trail is 0.3 miles long and is suitable for people with mobility aids. This program is for park visitors of all ages.

Participants should plan on arriving at the park at least 15 minutes before the start of the program to give them enough time to check in at the front desk.

Need to Know

  • Pets are not allowed for safety purposes.
  • Minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.

What to Expect

  • Walking around the Megafauna Trail learning about all the animals featured on the trail.
  • The Megafauna Trail is a compacted hard-surface trail that is appropriate for wheelchairs and mobility devices.
  • The educational content of this program is introductory level.

Fees & Registration

  • The $3 per person (kids 12 and under are free) entry fee applies.
  • There is no additional cost for this program.
  • No registration required.
