After a postponed launch in April, the Cosmos in the Desert Dark Skies Festival is back—inviting you to experience Lahontan in a whole new light, or rather, the absence of it. Under a canopy of stars and free from light pollution, this one-of-a-kind evening celebrates Nevada’s dark skies through guided exploration, storytelling, and hands-on activities for all ages.

Event Information

  • Park Entrance Fee: $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents, $10 per vehicle for non-residents

  • Camping: Allowed in all designated areas except Beach 3, Day-Use, and Boat Launch zones. No reservation required. Additional park fees apply

  • Commemorative Items: Limited-edition event swag available while supplies last


What to Know Before You Go

  • White lights are not allowed in the event area. Red lights only. A red flashlight conversion booth will be available at check-in

  • No dogs or alcohol permitted within the event space

  • All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult

  • Glow attire is encouraged to enhance the experience and visibility
