Bullionville History Walks on Nevada Day

Location

Cathedral Gorge State Park - Eastern Region Visitor Center Auditorium

Meet at the Eastern Region Visitor Center to learn more about a small piece of Nevada’s early history. Join park staff for a short walk to the Bullionville Cemetery and State Historic Marker. We will have a display set up with the Nevada State Symbols inside the auditorium.

Need to Know

  • Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Pets are not allowed for this event
  • Meet at the visitor center at Cathedral Gorge State Park
  • Parts of this event are weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.

  • Water
  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Dress in layers for the weather

What to Expect

  • Outdoor environment with opportunities for questions and discussion
  • Short, informal guided walk to the Bullionville Cemetery and State Historic Marker
  • The educational content of this program is introductory level
  • The trail is gravel with some uneven surfaces, and has approximately 80 feet of elevation gain over the 0.6 mile, round-trip walk
  • Nevada State Symbols will be on display inside the auditorium
  • Park information and Junior Ranger books will be available

Schedule

  • 10 am - 2 pm Nevada State Symbols on display inside the auditorium
  • 10 am: Guided walk to the Bullionville Cemetery and State Historic Marker
  • 12 pm: Guided walk to the Bullionville Cemetery and State Historic Marker
  • 1:30 pm: Guided walk to the Bullionville Cemetery and State Historic Marker

Fees & Registration

  • There is no entrance fee for the Visitor Center, but the park entrance fee applies to visitors continuing into Cathedral Gorge State Park: $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents and $10 per vehicle for non-Nevada residents.
  • There is no additional cost for this event.
  • Drop-ins welcome. Advance registration is not required.
