2024 Children’s Nugget Shoot

Nevada State Parks, in partnership with the Gold Prospectors of America (GPPAA) Reno chapter, is excited to announce the 2024 Children’s Nugget Shoot for ages 12 and under!  

Participants are encouraged to bring their own metal detectors and digging tools, although a limited number of detectors will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children will have the exciting opportunity to discover toys, coins, tokens, and various trinkets. Prizes will be awarded starting at 2:00 PM.

This event falls on National Public Lands Day, so all park fees are waived and the event itself is free. Attendees should come prepared for weather. Bring food, drinks, chairs, and some shade. Importantly, this is a kids-only (12 and under)  treasure hunt, and younger children may be assisted by an adult.
