Grand Opening Valley of Fire Visitor Center

Join Nevada State Parks for the Grand Opening Celebration of the new Valley of Fire Visitor Center on Saturday, November 22, 2025, and be part of this historic day at one of Nevada’s oldest and most iconic state parks.

This transformative $30+ million project represents a landmark achievement in preserving Nevada’s rich natural and cultural heritage. Made possible through a dynamic public-private partnership, including a $7 million grant from the Helmsley Charitable Trust and a matching $8 million investment from the Conserve Nevada Program, the new facility is designed to elevate the visitor experience and inspire future generations.

Amphitheater Schedule

• 9:30 AM – Ribbon-cutting remarks from park staff and dignitaries

• 10:30 AM – Wildlife Talk with the Nevada Department of Wildlife

• 11:00 AM – Geology Talk with Nevada State Parks

• 11:30 AM – The Nevadaromeus Dinosaur presentation with Josh Bonde and Becky Hall

• 12:00 PM – Hiker’s Education Course with the Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation

At 11:00 a.m., visitors can enjoy the premiere of the new 10-minute orientation film, Valley of Fire: A Journey Through Time and Stone, narrated by William Shatner, located in the new theater. The film will play every 15 minutes from then on.

Vendors and Booths

Enjoy a variety of local food and beverage options from Chaskas & Sweets, Las Vegas Brewing Co., Tacos & Salsas, VKM Thaifood and BBQ, Headframe Coffee, and Goodfellas Grill.

Visitors can also browse booths and exhibits from Lost City Museum, Fern Teal Designs, Zeeta Body, the State Historic Preservation Office, and Nataniel’s Astro Road Trips Photography.

Parking

Limited parking will be available at the new visitor center located between Petrified Logs and Beehives. Overflow parking will be located at Petrified Logs Trailhead and Beehives Trailhead. Parking along Valley of Fire Road will not be permitted unless directed to do so by park staff.

The park will open around 7:00 a.m., and visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking. For those who don’t mind missing the official ceremony, festivities will continue until 3:00 p.m., offering plenty of opportunities to explore the park and experience the celebration throughout the day.

Camping

Camping reservations inside Valley of Fire are currently full for that weekend; however, dispersed camping is available on nearby BLM land outside of the park.
