Die De Lost Muertos at Kershaw Ryan
Dia De Muertos is a central and south American holiday rooted in remembering family history and ancestors who have passed on. A table called an "Ofrenda" is often set up to place momentos and pictures relating to ancestors, and stories and memories are shared. This holiday enables families to reconnect with their ancestors, passing down stories, photos, and traditions. The holiday has relevance to local history as well and can serve to preserve and explain regional customs, history, stories, and heritage.
Come to the Day Use Area at 4 PM on Nov 1st. Bring a momento/photo relating to your family, personal, or local history and place it on the Ofrenda. Bring a favorite treat to share as well if you would like! Learn about another culture, enjoy activities and treats, and enjoy oral history presentations.
The movie "Moana" will begin around 6pm. Bring your own seating and warm clothing.
