Bird box building activity and bird walk at Walker River State Recreation Area on Saturday, July 24

 

Yerington, Nev. – Build a bird box and participate in a ranger-led bird walk to learn about the birds that call Walker River home. All materials and building instruction will be provided. Once boxes are built and personalized, a short and informative bird hike will serve as an opportunity for children to hang their new boxes around the property and along the river corridor.

WHAT: Bird box building activity and bird walk

WHEN: Saturday, July 24, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

WHERE: Walker River State Recreation Area, Visitor Center

WHO: This event is open to the public and geared toward children. Bird box builds will be limited to the first 30 kids. The more the merrier for the bird walk.

COST:  Event is free and materials will be provided.  Park fees apply. $5 for in state vehicles / $10 for out of state vehicles.  Cash, checks, credit and debit cards accepted.
