Annual Permits

Nevada State Parks offers several different types of annual permits including annual entrance permits, passport permits, annual boating permits, senior permits and disabled veteran permits. The various permits are described in more detail below.

All annual permits may be purchased at individual park offices, regional offices in Fallon and Las Vegas and at State Parks headquarters in Carson City. For questions or to get more information, please call 775-684-2793.

Annual Entrance Permits: These permits are issued for a specific park. The permit authorizes the holder to enter that park for 12 months without paying the entrance fee. An additional fee is required for camping, boating, group use areas and to attend special events. The annual entrance permit fee for Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park is $85, and this permit includes entrances to all units in that park: Cave Rock, Sand Harbor and Spooner Lake. The annual permit fee for Valley of Fire is $75. Annual permits for all other parks are $65, and in some cases that $65 permit may include other nearby parks. 

Passport Permits: This permit authorizes the holder to enter ALL parks in the system for 12 months without paying the entrance fee. The Passport Permit is $100. An additional fee is required for camping, boating, group use areas and to attend special events. 

Annual Boating Permits: These permits are issued for a specific park or region of parks. The permit authorizes the holder to enter that park for 12 months and covers both entrance and launch.  An additional fee is required for camping, boating, group use areas and to attend special events. The annual boating permit fee for Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park is $200, and this permit includes all units in that park: Cave Rock, Sand Harbor and Spooner Lake. The annual boating fee for Big Bend of the Colorado is $125. Rye Patch, South Fork and Wild Horse are all included in an annual boating fee of $100. 

Purchasing Additional Permits: At the time of initial purchase of one of the above permits (or within 30 days of the purchase and prior to December 31), an additional permit may be purchased for additional vehicles at a 50% discount. Vehicles using the additional permit must be registered to the same owner that holds the original permit.

Senior Citizen Permits: This permit is issued to a senior citizen who is 65 years of age or older and has continuously resided in Nevada for the 5 years immediately preceding the date on which the resident submits the application. The permit provides the holder unlimited entrance to all parks and use of camping and boat launch facilities in the parks for 12 months after the date the permit for senior citizens is issued. Disabled Veteran Permit: This permit is issued to a disabled veteran who resides in Nevada and can show proof of a permanent service-connective disability of 10 percent or more from the Department of Veterans Affairs and was Honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States. The permit provides the holder unlimited entrance to all parks and use of camping and boat launch facilities in the parks for 12 months after the date the permit is used. Replacement Permits: A $10 fee will be charged to replace annual entrance and boating permits and passport permits, as well as senior citizen and disabled veteran permits.
