Day Use Reservations Required at Big Bend of the Colorado
LAUGHLIN, Nev. – Nevada State Parks is reminding visitors that day use reservations will once again be required at Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area beginning May 15, 2025, to help manage park capacity and improve the overall visitor experience during the busy summer season.
The reservation requirement will be in effect daily through September 15, 2025, for all visitors entering the park before 11:30 a.m. Reservations can be made easily and quickly at www.reservenevada.com and are available up to 10:15 a.m. on the day of arrival.
“This system was successfully introduced last year to help reduce morning congestion and ensure visitors could better plan their time at the park,” said Bob Mergell, Administrator of Nevada State Parks. “We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we continue to improve access while protecting the park’s natural resources.”
To allow for spontaneous trips, visitors arriving after 11:30 a.m. will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, pending available capacity. However, those without reservations arriving before 11:30 a.m. will not be allowed entry .
Reservation Details:
- Valid for entry before 11:30 a.m. only.
- $5 non-refundable reservation fee for bookings made in advance.
- No reservation fee for same-day bookings.
- Reservations close at 10:15 a.m. each day for same-day visits.
- No refunds for missed arrival times or late arrivals.

Big Bend of the Colorado, located in Laughlin, offers sandy beaches, shaded picnic areas, and water-based recreation along the Colorado River. As one of Nevada’s most popular state recreation areas, the park sees a significant increase in visitation during the warmer months, making early planning essential.
