Nevada State Parks Celebrates National Public Lands Day Saturday, September 27, 2025
CARSON CITY, Nev. – On Saturday, September 27, Nevada State Parks invites everyone to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the nation’s largest event dedicated to public lands. To honor the occasion, Nevada State Parks is waiving fees for entry, camping, and boating at all state parks, giving visitors the perfect opportunity to explore and connect with Nevada’s treasured landscapes.
National Public Lands Day, established in 1994 by the National Environmental Education Foundation, brings together thousands of volunteers, park staff, and visitors across the country in celebration of shared public lands. Through activities such as clean-ups, restoration, and educational programs, the day promotes stewardship and appreciation for the outdoors while reminding us of the importance of protecting these spaces for generations to come.

Celebrate, Learn, and Share Your Voice
National Public Lands Day is a chance to give back, enjoy, and celebrate Nevada’s incredible outdoor spaces. As part of this commitment to the future of recreation, Nevada State Parks is also reminding Nevadans that the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) survey is still live. This survey helps guide outdoor recreation priorities in Nevada, and the deadline to submit feedback has been extended to October 12, 2025.
