Public Input Workshop for Spooner Lake State Park

Spooner Lake State Park

Incline Village, Nev. – The Nevada Division of State Parks is currently in the process of developing a new Master Plan for Spooner Lake & Backcountry State Park and will be hosting a public input workshop at the Spooner Lake visitor center on Thursday, July 17, from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

During this workshop, Nevada State Parks staff will provide information about the master plan project and answer questions regarding the planning process. Participants will be able to weigh in on what they envision for the future of Spooner Lake & Backcountry State Park, and share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns regarding the park through interactive planning materials.

Spooner Lake and Backcountry State Park welcomes approximately 100,000 visitors annually.  The park spans over 12,000 acres and features over 60 miles of trails, numerous historic sites, and vital wildlife habitat.  The master plan will aim to best balance the increasing recreational demands of the park with preservation of natural and cultural resources.

StoryMap and Online Survey Also Available: In addition to the public input workshop, an interactive StoryMap and online survey will remain available through Sunday, July 27th. Nevada State Parks will use the input collected from the workshop and the online survey to help guide the development of the park master plan over the next year.
