Nature Journaling at Washoe Lake

Washoe Lake State Park

Are you curious about nature and interested in learning more? Slow down and enhance your observation skills during this interactive nature journaling program. We will go over the basics of nature journaling, take a short walk through the park, and try some drawing exercises. No previous drawing or artistic experience necessary. Nature journals, pencils, and colored pencils will be provided. Participants should dress in layers for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Dogs are not recommended for this activity. Please RSVP by emailing wlsp@parks.nv.gov so the park can plan for supplies.

WHEN: Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Washoe Lake State Park Boat Ramp Parking Lot, 4855 Eastlake Blvd., Washoe Valley, NV 89704. Take Exit 10 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. for four miles. The park entrance is on the left. Turn left past the fee booth and follow the road to the boat ramp.

COST: No additional fee is required beyond the standard park entrance fees: $5 for Nevada residents and $10 for non-residents.
