Lahontan SRA - Park Rules
- Campsite Check-in starts: 2 p.m. / Check-out by: 11 a.m.
- Metal detecting season is from October 1st to April 1st.
- There is no hunting permitted between beaches 4 and 9. (Hunting is permitted from east of the beach 4 bathrooms to beach 12, 9th Street, 5th Street, South Beach Road, from beach 11 to drum point and beach 31 and east banks of the lake). Please see a Park Ranger for a detailed map.
- No target practice anywhere in the park, including archery.
- Speed limits on beaches is 15 MPH.
- Day Use hours are from sunrise to sunset.
- No camping in Day Use without a Special Use Permit. Special Use Permits take a minimum 5 weeks to process.
- No driving on the Day Use beach. Foot traffic only.
- Camps are not to be left unattended overnight.
- Quiet hours are from 10PM to 7AM.
- Horses are not permitted in the Developed 7 Campground.
- Rope swings in trees are prohibited.
- No 4wheelers, dirt bikes, or ATVs. UTV’s are permitted only if they are registered and insured. Proof will be required.
- Fireworks of any kind are prohibited.
- No walking on or near the dam.
- No fishing or boating within near the dam.
- Maximum stay limit for the Western Region is 14 days within a 30 day period. The Western Region parks include: Lahontan State Park, Fort Churchill/Bucklin Station State Parks, Walker River State Park, Dayton State Park, Washoe State Park, and Rye Patch State Park. Be aware that some other park's stay limits are only 7 days in a 30 day period.
