Join park staff for a walk through the Washoe Lake Wetlands. This easy walk is approximately 1.5 miles long. We will be walking past various ponds and along the lakeshore, so we should be able to see ducks and other bird species along the way. We suggest that participants bring binoculars and a camera. Participants should also dress in layers for the weather and bring water, sun protection, and insect repellant. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a maximum six-foot leash at all times.
WHEN: Sunday, April 16, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: Meet at the Wetlands parking lot on the south end of Washoe Lake. Take Exit 10 from I-580 and drive north approximately two miles on Eastlake Blvd. The Wetlands parking lot is on the left.
WHO: This event is open to the public and is hosted by Washoe Lake State Park.
Nevada State Parks is committed to providing accessible experiences for all visitors. If you need a reasonable communication accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the park or event coordinator no later than 10 days in advance so we have time to work with you and support your visit.
