Self-guided New Moon Hike - October 2023

See details below and email kwolfe@parks.nv.gov the number of vehicles in your group AND your preferred timeslot (6:30-8pm or 7:30-9pm).
*Understand we will try our best, but a spot is not guaranteed. Spots are first-come, first-serve.
WHAT: Hike a 1 mile trail over loose sand and uneven ground under the stars. We’ll set up tealights to help you find your way, but a flashlight with red setting is necessary. Specific location will be sent after a reservation is made.
WHEN: Saturday, October 14.
You may either:
- Arrive at 6:30pm and be back in your vehicle by 8pm,
- Arrive at 7:30pm and be back in your vehicle by 9pm.
BRING: Close-toed shoes, water, a red light. (Using a red light helps you keep your night vision and is less bothersome to other guests)
COST:
- $10 for NV Residents per vehicle,
- $15 for Out of State Guests per vehicle.
(If you have a NEVADA STATE PARKS Annual Pass or a receipt from entry to the park earlier on the same day you do not have to pay the above fee!)

**Note that the park closes at sunset. You must be attending a park-approved event to be anywhere in the park after hours, and you must be in the specific area(s) where the event is being held. Commercial photography is prohibited without a permit. **
