Pitching-in-the-Park Horseshoe Tournament

Fort Churchill State Historic Park

Join the competition or cheer on the teams at Fort Churchill’s first Pitching-in-the-Park Horseshoe Tournament. This two-person team, double-elimination tournament is intended for casual horseshoe pitchers looking for a fun-filled day of friendly competition. Advanced registration is required by Sunday, June 9. Teams should plan to attend a pre-tournament meeting on the day of the tournament at 9:30 a.m. at the Orchard Day Use Area (across from Buckland Station on Highway 95A). Registration is limited to participants 12 years of age and older. Tournament participants and observers are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and spend the day enjoying the park. Teams can register by calling 775-577-2345.

WHEN: Sunday, June 16, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Orchard Day Use Area at Fort Churchill State Historic Park - across the highway from historic Buckland Station. The Orchard Day Use Area is located approximately 9 miles south of the Highway 95A/Highway 50 intersection on Highway 95A.    

COST: Park entrance fees apply, $5.00 per vehicle. There is no additional cost to participate in the event.
