Night Hike & Fishing Program at Spring Valley

Spring Valley State Park

Looking for a weekend getaway at Spring Valley State Park? Enrich your camping experience with back-to-back guided programs with us and the Nevada Department of Wildlife!

Nocturnal Animals Night Hike

During this guided night hike, we will dive into the fascinating world that awakens after the sun goes down. Equipped with bat detectors, we will identify some of the local Nevada bat species as they flutter through the twilight and learn about the unique adaptations that enable our nocturnal animals to thrive under the cover of darkness.

Program will begin at 8:00 PM by the docks on the West side of Eagle Valley Reservoir (across the road from Horsethief Gulch Campground).

Please dress appropriately for the local evening temperatures and come prepared with water and comfortable walking shoes. Red flashlights will be available for use but relying on our night vision will be encouraged!

Please contact Lauren MacLeod at lauren.macleod@ndow.org with questions. To register for the 8:00AM Shoreline Fishing on June 28 visit this link: https://www.register-ed.com/events/view/229713.

Morning Shoreline Fishing

Whether you're a seasoned angler or casting for the first time, enjoy a quiet morning on the shoreline with us. During this class we will learn tips and techniques for a successful fishing experience using your choice of a fly rod or spin rod.

Program will begin at 8:00 AM by the docks on the West side of Eagle Valley Reservoir (across the road from Horsethief Gulch Campground). Come prepared with your fishing license, layers of clothing, water, a hat, and sunglasses. All fishing equipment will be provided by NDOW.

Please contact Abbey Czarnecki at aczarnecki@ndow.org with questions. To register for the 8:00PM Nocturnal Animals Night Hike on June 27 visit this link: https://www.register-ed.com/events/view/229712.
