Night Hike

Location

Washoe Lake State Park - Boat Ramp Parking Lot

Join us for a guided night hike to the gazebo along the Deadman’s Creek Trail. We will discuss nocturnal wildlife and check out some constellations.

Need to Know

  • Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Pets are allowed, but must be on a leash at all times
  • Meet at the Boat Ramp parking lot
  • Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.

What to Bring

  • Water
  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Red light flashlight and/or UV flashlight
  • Dress in layers for the weather

What to Expect

  • Outdoor environment with opportunities for questions and discussion
  • 1.5-mile round-trip hike with an elevation gain of approximately 380 feet
  • Rocky, uneven surface
  • A hike after dark to learn about nocturnal wildlife

Fees & Registration

  • No program fee
  • Park entrance fees are $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents and $10 per vehicle for non-Nevada residents
  • No registration necessary—drop-ins welcome
