New Moon Hike (Self-guided) - September 2023

Valley of Fire State Park

**Note that the park closes at sunset. You must be attending a park-approved event to be anywhere in the park afterhours, and you must be in the specific area where the event is being held. Commercial photography is prohibited without a permit. **

 

WHAT: Hike the Mouse's Tank Trail (0.75 miles) under the stars. The hike is over loose sand and rough terrain and can be considered Easy. Tealights will mark the trail, but you will need to bring your own flashlight with a red setting.

No reservations required.

WHEN: Friday, September 15
Arrive between 7:00pm and 8:30pm; Return to your vehicle no later than 9:00pm. (Trail takes about 30 minutes to complete)

WHERE: Mouse's Tank/Petroglyph Canyon Trailhead, north of the Visitor Center on White Domes Road/Mouse's Tank Road.

COST:
$10 for NV Residents per vehicle,
$15 for Out of State Guests per vehicle.
(If you have a NEVADA STATE PARKS Annual Pass or a receipt from entry to the park earlier on the same day you do not have to pay the above fee!)
