Washoe Lake State Park

Are you curious about nature and interested in learning more? Slow down and enhance your observation skills during this interactive nature journaling program. Reservations are required for this program.

Date: Sunday, April 19, 2026
Time: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Washoe Lake State Park Day Use Area

Need to Know:

  • Pets not recommended for this program
  • Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.
  • Meet at the boat ramp inside Washoe Lake State Park
  • No previous drawing or artistic experience necessary

What to Bring

  • Water
  • Hat and sun protection
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Binoculars and a camera

What to Expect

  • Learn the basics of nature journaling
  • Outdoor setting with opportunities for questions and discussion
  • Educational ranger-led experience
  • Nature journals and drawing materials will be provided

Fees & Registration

  • TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT: email us with your name, phone number, and number of people in your group to wlsp@parks.nv.gov
  • No program fee
  • Park entrance fee: $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents, $10 out of state
