Advanced Off-Trail Hike

Join us on Saturday, March 26, to hike the Yellow Spire/Colorful Canyons Off-Trail Hike! 

This hike takes us into the prettiest, most colorful areas of the park and includes the tall yellow spire as well as white hoodoos. After walking through white, pink, red, orange, and purple rocks we’ll cut down to Wedgewood Canyon and pay for the beauty with a final, uphill slog through the sand back to the cars. 

(6 miles, 1,200 ft gross gain. ~6hrs)

** This off-trail hikes is over difficult, rough terrain, sometimes with deep, soft sand, sometimes up steep, solid rock where hands may be required, and sometimes scrambling up or down boulder sized rocks. 

** This off-trail hike is for experienced hikers ONLY. Approximate actual distances are given, but the nature of off-trail hiking in Valley of Fire means that the perceived distance is about twice the actual distance (i.e. a 6 mile hike ‘feels like’ a 12 mile hike.) 

** You will get tired!
