Join us on Saturday, January 29 to hike the Drop-Slot Pinnacles Off-Trail Hike!

The ever-popular drop slot hike takes us up Fault Mesa and down through a series of increasingly narrow slots that require sliding down vertically a few feet. Gloves, long sleeves, and pants are required to minimize leaving skin on the rock. Once through the slot we take the break amongst some of the prettiest pinnacles in the park.

(4 miles, 800 ft gross gain. ~4hrs)

** This off-trail hikes is over difficult, rough terrain, sometimes with deep, soft sand, sometimes up steep, solid rock where hands may be required, and sometimes scrambling up or down boulder sized rocks.

** This off-trail hike is for experienced hikers ONLY. Approximate actual distances are given, but the nature of off-trail hiking in Valley of Fire means that the perceived distance is about twice the actual distance (i.e. a 4 mile hike ‘feels like’ an 8 mile hike.)

** You will get tired!
