Guided Off-Trail First Day Hike

Valley of Fire

Ring in the New Year with an off-trail guided hike at Valley of Fire State Park!

This hike will be a 3-mile strenuous, off-trail hike with an elevation gain of 800-feet. Most

off-trail hikes in Valley of Fire feel a lot longer than they really are, so please be prepared as if we were hiking one and one-half times that distance over rough terrain.

This hike will start by passing over the desert to a sandy wash, and from there will head up a steep solid rock wall.  After scrambling up this rock, we will head north and walk through soft sand before a final ascent to the top of the world arch. After enjoying the beautiful views from the arch, we will head back to the parking lot via a narrow, steep, rocky canyon. Hiking east, we will pass through a rocky wash and a slot canyon before arriving back at the parking lot. Please be advised that walking across sand can be exhausting.

We do not recommend children under the age of 10 on this hike.
