Birdwatching at the Washoe Lake Wetlands

Washoe Lake State Park

Join park staff for a birdwatching walk through the Washoe Lake Wetlands. This easy walk is approximately 1.5 miles long. We will be walking past various ponds and along the lakeshore, so we should be able to see ducks and other bird species along the way. We suggest that participants bring binoculars and a camera. Participants should also dress in layers for the weather and bring water, sun protection, and insect repellant. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a maximum six-foot leash at all times.

WHEN: Sunday, May 14, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Meet at the Wetlands parking lot on the south end of Washoe Lake. Take Exit 10 from I-580 and drive north approximately two miles on Eastlake Blvd. The Wetlands parking lot is on the left.
