Basic Birdwatching
Learn about some of the birds that call Dayton State Park home! Take a ranger-led walk through the cottonwood gallery next to the Carson River to observe a variety of bird species in their natural habitat. This is an easy walk along the river, approximately one mile long. Participants should bring water and sun protection, dress in layers for the weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Depending on insect activity, we may need head nets in addition to insect repellent. The park has a limited supply of head nets available to borrow if necessary.
