WHAT: This is a 4.5 mile hike with 750 ft gain. Leaving from the northern end of the park, this hike goes down a narrow red rock canyon before hitting a sandy wash and canyon where the first set of petroglyphs are found. Some zig-zagging around canyons brings a traverse to the second and third set of petroglyphs. At this point the hike heads around some colorful mud rocks to the fourth petroglyphs high up on the cliff face. A short while later, by a tinaja there are even more petroglyphs. From there the route passes by Duck Rock and back along the dirt road to the trailhead.
WHERE: Meetup location will be sent via email when your reservation is confirmed.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT: Email names of everyone in your party to kwolfe@parks.nv.gov

** This off-trail hike is for experienced hikers ONLY. Approximate actual distances are given, but the nature of off-trail hiking in Valley of Fire means that the perceived distance is about twice the actual distance (i.e. a 4.5 mile hike ‘feels like’ an 9 mile hike.)
