Join us from 9am-12:30pm on Saturday, January 28 to hike the Beehives Four Corners Advanced Off-trail Hike!
3.5 miles, 1,100ft. gross gain.

ABOUT THE HIKE: Explore a new off-trail hike in the Beehives rockpile. The hike starts off with a gentle gradient up a rocky wash before turning south for a great view of the park. We loop back and up a saddle that gives a view of the eastern side. Then there’s some scrambling down a very narrow canyon and up and around sandstone rock to get to the northern part of the rockpile for more stunning views. A short backtrack requires a very rocky and boulder strewn downclimb before turning west and up the final climb. Another downclimb completes the balloon loop part of the hike and we retrace our steps back to the parking lot.

** This off-trail hikes is over difficult, rough terrain, sometimes with deep, soft sand, sometimes up steep, solid rock where hands may be required, and sometimes scrambling up or down boulder sized rocks.

** This off-trail hike is for experienced hikers ONLY. Approximate actual distances are given, but the nature of off-trail hiking in Valley of Fire means that the perceived distance is about twice the actual distance (i.e. a 3.5 mile hike ‘feels like’ a 7 mile hike.)

** You will get tired!
