Valley of Fire 2024 First Day Hikes

Valley of Fire State Park

We have a LOT of guided hikes being offered on January 1st, 2024! These are the hikes that do NOT require a reservation to attend.

Park entrance fees are waived for participants. You must notify the fee booth upon entry!

Rainbow Vista to Fire Canyon Overlook : (3 miles)
A hike over level ground with some minor up and down terrain to a view overlooking part of Fire Canyon.
Meet at Rainbow Vista Trailhead

10:00—11:00am
Petroglyph Canyon to Mouse’s Tank : (1 mile)
See petroglyphs and learn about native plant life as we take a casual hike.
Meet at Mouse’s Tank Trailhead

10:30am—12:30pm
Duck Rock Petroglyph Loop : (3 miles)
Hike an unofficial trail to duck rock and see petroglyphs along the way.
Park at the gate near the northernmost curve of the road before White Domes Loop (Only park in pullouts)

Seven Wonders to Fire Wave : (2 miles)
Beautiful rock formations can be viewed throughout the entire hike.
Meet at Parking Lot ‘P3’

White Domes Loop : (1.5 miles)
This hike has some rock stairs, remains of a movie set, and a slot canyon.
Meet at White Domes Loop Trailhead

11:30am—1:00pm
Silica Dome Peak : (2 miles)
Steep hike requiring scrambling using hands. Not for people with a fear of heights. Incredible views of Fire Canyon.
Meet at Silica Dome Parking Area (end of Fire Canyon Road)

12:00—3:00pm
Petroglyph Canyon, Mouse’s Tank, and Fire Canyon : (3 miles)
This hike is not appropriate without some scrambling experience and would be challenging for most pets.
