Star Party
Come enjoy an evening under the stars. Members of the Northern Nevada Astronomy Group will begin the evening with a short educational presentation, followed by a viewing of stars, planets, and other celestial objects through high-powered telescopes.

Location: Fort Churchill State Historic Park
Need to Know
- Meet in the gravel parking lot near the Fort Churchill Visitor Center.
- Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.
What to Bring
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Water
- Insect repellent & mesh head net
- Red light
- Folding chairs or blankets
What to Expect
- Outdoor setting with opportunities for questions and discussion.
- A short, interactive astronomy presentation to begin the evening.
- A variety of telescopes for viewing stars, planets, and other celestial objects.
Fees & Registration
- Park entrance fee: $5.00 per vehicle with Nevada plates, $10.00 out-of-state
- There is no additional cost for this program.
- No registration required.
