Self-guided and Guided April New Moon Hikes

Valley of Fire State Park

NOTE: We've been experiencing a technical issue where event posts disappear from the site on the day of the event. Please take note if you plan to come, as this information might not show up here on 4/19.

**The park closes at sunset. You must be attending a park-approved event to be anywhere in the park afterhours, and you must be in the specific area where the event is being held. Commercial photography is prohibited without a permit. **

WHAT: Hike the Fire Wave (1.5 miles) out-and-back on your own under the stars or hike the entire Seven Wonders Loop (1.8 miles) with a guide. Both hikes are over loose sand and rough terrain and can be considered Moderate. You will need to bring your own flashlight with a red setting. See arrival/departure times below for each option. No reservations required.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 19
Self-Guided Hike: Arrive between 7:30pm and 8:30pm; Return to your vehicle no later than 9:30pm.
Guided Hike: Arrive between 8:45pm and 9pm; We will be back by 11pm.

WHERE: Park at parking lot "P3," five miles north of the Visitor Center. The area is listed on Google Maps as "Fire Wave Trailhead" in Overton, NV. 

COST:
$10 for NV Residents per vehicle,
$15 for Out of State Guests per vehicle.
(If you have a NEVADA STATE PARKS Annual Pass or a receipt from entry to the park earlier on the same day you do not have to pay the above fee!)
