Guided Night Hike

Valley of Fire State Park

Reserve your spot on a guided hike under the stars! We'll be hiking the 1-mile Rainbow Vista Trail. 

Date: Friday, February 13
Time: 5:45-7:15pm (Reservation Required)
Location: Rainbow Vista, Valley of Fire State Park


Need to Know:

  • TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT: Send NUMBER OF PEOPLE AND VEHICLES in your group to kwolfe@parks.nv.gov
  • The trail is over loose sand and rough terrain.

  • Pets allowed (must be on a leash 6ft or shorter)

  • Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check your email for updates before you head out.


What to Bring

  • Flashlight with red, blue, or green setting. (This color is less disturbing to other guests/wildlife, and helps preserve your night vision!)

  • Water

  • Comfortable hikng shoes

  • Weather-appropriate clothing


What to Expect

  • A guided hike through the Rainbow Vista trail. 

  • Stops for activities that teach guests about human night vision. 

  • Quiet moments under the stars.

  • Education about the surrounding landscape and wildlife.

  • Parking at trailhead is limited; Reservation required. 

  • Cost of hike included in Park Entrance Fee ($10/vehicle if NV resident, $15/vehicle if from out of state)
