Event Description

Start your New Year with Nevada history and fresh air by joining a First Day Hike at Mormon Station State Historic Park. First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide tradition held every January 1 in all 50 states, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to begin the year with outdoor activity, healthy movement, and a connection to public lands.

This guided 1.2-mile hike offers a relaxed pace, making it perfect for families, beginners, and anyone looking to start 2026 with a meaningful outdoor experience. Along the way, participants will enjoy scenic views of Genoa and learn about the early pioneer history preserved at Mormon Station.

What to Bring
