Disc Golf Grand Opening
Join Washoe Lake State Park for the grand opening of our disc golf course, The Maze at Washoe Lake! Come learn what disc golf is all about as you experience our brand new 18-hole course. Disc golf is easy to learn, a great way to enjoy the outdoors, and fun for all ages!
Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Time: 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Location: Washoe Lake State Park Maze Parking Lot
Need to Know:
- Pets not recommended for this program
- Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. Check the website for updates before you head out.
- Meet at the Maze parking lot inside the park (turn left past the fee booth and it’s the first parking lot on the right)
What to Bring
- Your favorite discs, but the park will have a limited number of discs on hand to borrow
- Water
- Hat and sun protection
- Comfortable shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing
What to Expect
- Outdoor setting with opportunities for questions and discussion
- Brief introduction to disc golf
- Orientation to the course and how-to demonstrations for new and seasoned players
- Staff will be on site to guide participants through the course with instruction if needed
- Short interpretive walks and fun family-friendly activities
- Free snacks and Nevada State Parks SWAG
- Gift shop trailer will be on site with Nevada State Parks merchandise
Fees & Registration
- No program fee
- Park entrance fees waived for this event
- Drop-ins welcome, no registration required
