Bull Wheel History Tour

Spooner Lake State Park

Join a park ranger on a guided tour of the historic Bull Wheel, located near Incline Village. The Bull Wheel was part of the Great Incline Tramway of the Sierra, and was used for logging during the Comstock era. The tour will begin at 10 a.m. and will return by 4 p.m.

Vehicles are not provided; visitors must drive their own vehicles approximately 3 miles up the Tunnel Creek Road. 4WD vehicles are necessary; either full or mid-sized trucks or SUVs with good clearance. Drivers must be comfortable driving on backcountry dirt roads. Also be prepared for a 3 mile moderately difficult hike to the Bull Wheel site. Bring food and water, sunscreen and bug spray, and be sure to dress for the weather. Sign-ups are required; vehicles are limited to 6.
