WHEN: 8:30am-2:30pm on Saturday, December 13
WHAT: This off-trail hike for experienced hikers is 5.5 miles long with 950 ft. of gross gain.
It goes through one of the most beautiful areas of the park with a namesake yellow spire, mini-hoodoos, big white hoodoos, and yellow, pink, red, orange, white, and purple rocks. The terrain is the usual tricky Valley of Fire variety with sandy washes, rocky canyons, and some clambering down dry waterfalls. The hardest part of the hike is the one mile return uphill in the sand on tired legs!
WHERE: Meetup location will be sent via email when your reservation is confirmed.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT: Email names of everyone in your party to kwolfe@parks.nv.gov

** This off-trail hike is for experienced hikers ONLY. Approximate actual distances are given, but the nature of off-trail hiking in Valley of Fire means that the perceived distance is about twice the actual distance (i.e. a 5.5 mile hike ‘feels like’ an 11 mile hike).
