Summer Reading Program
The summer reading program is a collection of activities designed to encourage reading throughout the summer and provide entertainment for school aged kids. There will be multiple activities during the weeks in June. Prizes will be given to those who read throughout the event. Free books will be given throughout the month as supplies allow.
WHAT: Summer Reading Program
WHEN: See attached schedule
WHERE: Kershaw Ryan State Park (2 miles south of Caliente on US 317) and Cathedral Gorge State Park (1 mile North of Panaca on US 93).
WHO: The event is open to the public. There will be one event each week for little kids, big kids, and biggest kids (adults).
COST: There is no cost for the event, park fees will be waived for attendees of the program.

June 3rd, 7:00 PM Kickoff party. Coincident with “Movies In The Park” (Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe).

June 10, 6:00 PM - Outdoor Game Night in the Park (Smores Served)
Week Two Theme – “Look Out Below”
June 14th, 10:00 AM – Big Kids Animals Activity
June 16th, 10:00 AM – Little Kids Messy Story Time
June 17th, 6:00 PM - Foraging Hike At the Caliente Linear Park Trail (meet at trailhead on Lincoln St.)

June 24, 6:00 PM – Pigeon Presentation
Week Four Theme – “The Sky’s the Limit”

June 30, 10:00 PM – Star Party (Park at Ranger Office and walk-up road, bring lighting covered by red cellophane if possible).
