Off-Trail Guided Hike

Valley of Fire

Join a ranger and some experienced off-trail hikers for a 4.5-mile hike with a gross gain of 750 ft. Off-trail hikes at Valley of Fire often feeling a lot longer due to elevation gain. This hike will descend an old dirt road before gradually dropping down into a deep and narrowing canyon. Once we reach the sandy wash at the bottom we will descend for a short distance before turning back up into Ram’s Head Canyon and eventually back to the old road. There are a couple of dry-falls going down the trail and three coming back up that will require some light scrambling and agility. We do not recommend children under 10 years of age on this hike. There is a 25-person limit for this hike. To register for this hike, email Rosa at rprasser@parks.nv.gov.
