Martin Luther King Public Service Day
Honor Martin Luther King with a day of pubic service at the Walker River State Recreation Area. Volunteers will help to enhance the cottonwood gallery along the river corridor by cutting cottonwoods and willow switches and planting them in potting soil for growth enhancement to be transplanted during our April Earth Day Celebration.
WHAT: Martin Luther King Public Service Day
WHEN: Monday January 18, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
WHERE: Walker River State Recreation Area Pitchfork Visitor Center 211 East Walker Rd. Yerington NV 89447
WHO: This event is open to the public, however, interested individuals must call to RSVP to abide by the Governor’s Mandate on groups and gatherings, so space is limited. Please bring warm cloths and gloves, the park will provide the tools.
COST: Fees are waived for those who attend
