Leap Day Hike

Washoe Lake State Park

2020 is a Leap Year, which only happens once every four years. We decided to celebrate with a guided hike! Join park staff for a hike through the sand dunes on the north end of Washoe Lake. This is an easy, one mile round-trip hike, but it involves hiking through loose sand. Participants should dress in layers for the weather and bring water and a camera.

WHEN: Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Meet at the North Boat Ramp Parking Lot. Take Exit 44 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. approximately 6 miles. Turn left onto Douglas Dr. and drive west approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Lakeshore Dr. and take an immediate left turn into the park. The parking lot is approximately ¼ mile down the road.

COST: The park entrance fee is $5 per vehicle. There is no additional charge for this event.
