Cancelled: Guided Hike

Washoe Lake State Park

Given our collective efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19, Nevada State Parks will offer only limited day-use service at some state parks, and we urge Nevadans to take part in “flattening the curve” by participating in hyperlocal recreation, such as backyard activities, neighborhood walks and local bicycle rides.

As always, the health and safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority. As a precautionary measure, all scheduled programs and events are canceled until further notice. Please check our website for updates, and thank you for your understanding.

Join park staff for a guided hike along the East Loop Trail. This trail is approximately 4 miles long and is a great way to see a remote area of the park. The hike is easy and mostly flat, but it involves walking in loose sand. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash. Participants should wear sturdy hiking shoes, dress in layers for the weather, and bring drinking water. We suggest taking a picnic lunch to the Day Use Area after the hike.
