First Day Hike

Join park staff for a hike on the first day of 2020! We will be using the South Loop Equestrian Trail. This hike is an easy 3 miles, but it does involve hiking through loose sand. Meet at the Equestrian Pavilion inside the park. This is a family-friendly event. Pets are welcome, but they must be kept on a leash at all times. Participants should wear waterproof hiking shoes and dress in layers for the weather. 

WHAT: First Day Hike

WHEN: Wednesday, January 1, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Washoe Lake State Park. Take the Eastlake Blvd. exit from I-580 and drive north approximately four miles. The park entrance is on the left. Turn right past the fee booth, pass the campground, and follow the short gravel road to the Equestrian Pavilion.

WHO: This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Washoe Lake State Park.

COST:  The park entrance fee is waived for this event.

MORE: Participants should bring water, sun protection, binoculars, and a camera.
