Butterfly Garden Activity

Washoe Lake State Park

This family-friendly program will focus on butterflies! Topics covered include the life cycle of a butterfly and important plants that support butterflies and other pollinators. We will provide one greenhouse kit per family, so everyone can take home their own butterfly garden. We will also be making butterfly ornaments for decoration.

Supplies are limited. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (775) 687-4319 or emailing us at wlsp@parks.nv.gov.

WHEN: Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Meet at the Maze parking lot inside the park. Take Exit 10 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. for four miles. The park entrance is on the left. Turn left past the fee booth and the Maze is the first parking lot on the right.

COST: Saturday, June 11 is “Discover Nevada State Parks Day,” so the park entrance fees will be waived. There is no additional cost for this program.
