August Full Moon Hike

Washoe Lake State Park

Join park staff for a guided Full Moon Hike using the South Loop Equestrian Trail. This is an easy 2.5 mile loop, but the ground is uneven in places and involves walking in loose sand. Dogs must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times. Participants should wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers for the weather. Meet at the Equestrian Pavilion at 8 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (775) 687-4319 or emailing wlsp@parks.nv.gov.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 10, from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

WHERE: Meet in the Equestrian Area inside the main part of the park. Take Exit 10 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. approximately four miles. The park entrance is on the left. Turn right, pass the campground, and follow the short gravel road to the Equestrian pavilion.

COST:  The park entrance fee is $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents and $10 per vehicle for non-Nevada residents. We can accept cash, check, or credit cards.
