Atlatl Demonstration

Valley of Fire State Park

The atlatl predates the bow and arrow and was commonly used by Native Americans of this area to hunt bighorn sheep. Join a ranger and discover the history of the atlatl and the people who used it. Participants will get to try their hand at throwing an atlatl dart.

WHEN: Saturday, March 16, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
WHERE: Meet at the Atlatl Rock picnic area.
COST: This event is free of charge, however, Valley of Fire State Park has a day-use fee of $10 per vehicle.
