Washoe Lake State Park

Full Moon Hike

Reservations are required for this moderate, three-mile hike through the sand dunes and along the beach at Washoe Lake. Please bring a flashlight and wear good hiking shoes as most of this hike involves loose sand.

WHEN: Sunday, March 12, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

WHERE: Take the Eastlake Blvd Exit #44 from I-580 and drive north approximately four miles.

The park entrance will be on your left. Meet at the Equestrian Area parking lot. After paying the

fee at the entrance to the park, turn right, pass the campground, and follow a short gravel road to

the Equestrian pavilion.

COST: $7 per vehicle. There is a $2 discount for Nevada residents. We can accept cash or check

only.

Intro to Washoe Lake State Park

Discover what makes Washoe Lake such a special place, and why it was set aside as a Nevada State Park. The presentation will begin with some local history and then take a virtual tour through the park in this PowerPoint presentation.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 15, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Take Exit 44 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. approximately four miles.

Pass the park entrance, and the park office is on your right at 4855 Eastlake Blvd.

COST: $7 per vehicle. There is a $2 discount for Nevada residents. We can accept cash, check,

or debit/credit card for this event.

Guided Hike

This is a strenuous 2.7 mile guided hike (with an elevation gain of 620 feet) into the hills above Deadman’s Creek. Please bring plenty of water and snacks, wear good hiking boots, and dress in layers for the weather.

WHEN: Saturday, March 25, 10 a.m. to noon.

WHERE: Take Exit 44 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. approximately four miles.

The park entrance will be on your left. Turn left past the fee booth, and meet at the Maze

parking lot, the first parking lot on the right.

COST: $7 per vehicle. There is a $2 discount for Nevada residents. We can accept cash or check

only.
