History Hike

Fort Churchill State Historic Park

Bring your walking shoes and join Park Interpreter, Kristin Sanderson, for a hike (approximately 1 mile) around historic Fort Churchill. See the fort ruins, learn about the early history of the area, and hear stories about daily life at a frontier fort. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, bring water, insect repellent, mesh head net and sun protection. The walk is mostly flat but includes areas of uneven terrain.

WHEN: Saturday, April 13, 2024, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: Meet at the Fort Churchill Museum. Fort Churchill is located 8 miles south of the Highway 95A/Highway 50 intersection on Highway 95A at 10000 Highway 95A, Silver Springs, NV 89429.

WHO: The program is open to the public and hosted by Fort Churchill State Historic Park.

COST: Park entrance fees apply, $5.00 per vehicle ($10.00 for non-Nevada vehicles). There is no additional cost to participate in the program.
