Nevada's 2005 State Recreational Trails Plan is the State's guide to the provision and improvement of recreational trail opportunities for the citizens of Nevada and our many visitors. The goal of Nevada's 2005 State Recreational Trails Plan is "to increase and improve the quality of trail activity opportunities in Nevada." The 2005 Nevada State Trails Plan is comprised of the following sections (acrobat files):
The results from the survey are summarized in the 2004 Trail Activities in Nevada Study, 27 pages (acrobat file). In August 2004, NDSP staff initiated a survey titled Trail Issues in Nevada. The survey was conducted to determine the most important issues concerning trails in the state. The top issues were addressed in the Nevada 2005 State Recreational Trails Plan. Actions to address the issues were developed at a series of public workshops around the state. NDSP staff is also working to develop a statewide trails inventory. A Geographic Information System (GIS) will be used to develop and store a database of federal, state, county and city trails.
